Dusan Vlahovic holds his future in his own hands now more than ever. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Ilbianconero), the much-anticipated meeting between Juventus and his representatives, originally scheduled after the winter transfer window, has been postponed to the March international break.
By then, the Serbian striker will have to make a final decision regarding his contract renewal. Reports suggest that Vlahovic is considering letting his current deal run its course set to expire in a year and a half while aiming for a salary similar to his current one.
However, he has never explicitly communicated this intention to the club, which is now demanding clarity.
At this stage, Vlahovic’s relationship with Juventus is the key issue. He has already lost his spot as a regular starter, which could heavily influence his final decision.
Juventus, on the other hand, may be reluctant to rely on a player who is likely to be placed on the transfer market in June. Rejecting a renewal with a pay cut could backfire on him, as the less he plays, the more his market value declines.
This poses a problem not only for Juventus, who may struggle to find buyers, but also for the player himself, who risks seeing his status downgraded.
As things stand, a summer departure seems to be the most likely scenario. Juventus could use the funds from his transfer to bring in a new striker, with Randal Kolo Muani emerging as a potential replacement
