The Allianz Stadium was the stage today for the official unveiling of Damien Comolli as Juventus’ new General Manager.

More than just a press conference, the event marked the symbolic and strategic beginning of a new era for the Bianconeri, who are determined to return to the forefront of Italian and European football.

“It’s a privilege to be here,” opened Comolli, the French executive with experience at top European clubs. “I’ve always admired Juventus. From the great players to the winning culture — this club has always stood out.”

New Leadership Structure

Comolli wasted no time outlining his vision: “We’ll have a sporting director in charge of transfers and a technical director. Both will report directly to me.” This dual-role structure, already tested in other major European and American clubs, is aimed at modernizing Juventus’ management model.

While names remain undisclosed, Comolli confirmed: “We’ve identified the right profile. It’s a process, and we don’t want to rush it.”

Tudor Confirmed, Chiellini Elevated

In his first major decision, Comolli confirmed Igor Tudor as head coach for the upcoming season: “I’ve already made it clear to him. We’re working together.”

As for Giorgio Chiellini, the club legend is stepping into a pivotal off-pitch role: “He’ll be the technical director, working closely with me on both sporting and commercial matters. He’ll also represent the club at Serie A and UEFA levels.”

Squad Planning and Transfer Strategy

While Comolli remained tight-lipped on market specifics, he confirmed discussions are underway: “We’ve talked with Tudor, Chiellini, and [CEO Maurizio] Scanavino. There will be adjustments, but not a revolution. The squad has quality.”

He also spoke about striker Dusan Vlahovic: “I spoke with him last week. He’s a top player, though clearly something hasn’t clicked. I want to understand his intentions. There’s no doubt about his talent.”

Additionally, Comolli announced a provisional agreement with PSG to extend the loan of Randal Kolo Muani through the Club World Cup: “He wants to stay, and we’re optimistic about keeping him for the full season.”

Data, Identity, and Youth Development

Known for his analytical approach, Comolli emphasized the role of data: “I’ve worked with data for 25 years. It helps us in scouting, injury prevention, performance analysis, and business decisions. Artificial intelligence will also be part of our process.”

He stressed the importance of building a club identity, starting from the youth academy and women’s team: “Creating a recognizable culture through method, playing style, and victories is essential. It’s difficult but not impossible.”

Contributing to Italian Football

Comolli concluded with a broader vision: “My two goals are to win and to maximize our potential. But I also want to contribute to the growth of Italian football. If Juventus succeeds, Italian football benefits. I’m not here to lecture, but I’ll help where I can.”
