Manchester United could sign Randal Kolo Muani ahead of Juventus
Manchester United have emerged as serious contenders to sign Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani.
The Red Devils are expected to challenge Juventus, who had the player on loan last season, for his signature.
After a difficult 2024/25 Premier League campaign in which they managed just 44 goals, United are eager to bolster their attacking options.
Strikers Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee scored only seven goals combined in the league, highlighting the club’s need for a more reliable presence up front.
Enter Kolo Muani, who impressed with 13 goal contributions during his loan stint at Juventus. Despite his strong performances, the Bianconeri are hesitant to commit to a permanent transfer, citing financial constraints.
PSG are reportedly not interested in another loan deal and prefer a permanent transfer worth between £35 million and £39.4 million.
Juventus, while keen on retaining the 26-year-old, hope the striker will hold off on joining another club, particularly “resisting the English temptations” led by United.
Manchester United are currently focused on player sales to raise funds, with Antony attracting interest from Saudi club Al-Nassr.
The Red Devils have set a price tag of £50 million for the Brazilian winger but may accept a lower fee with performance-based add-ons.
Other players like Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, and Tyrell Malacia are also being linked with exits, which could further boost United’s transfer budget.
Should United free up enough resources, they are expected to make a late push for Kolo Muani. The club has a positive relationship with PSG following the Manuel Ugarte deal last summer, and could negotiate a slight discount.
If a deal for Kolo Muani materializes, it could lead to a domino effect. Reports suggest Juventus would then pursue a loan move for Rasmus Hojlund, potentially as a replacement for the Frenchman they can’t afford to buy.
The move would give United a more proven forward, while Juventus would still secure a talented striker option though only temporarily.
With the summer window nearing its peak, Manchester United’s strategy may depend heavily on how quickly they can offload fringe players.
If they succeed, Randal Kolo Muani could well be wearing red at Old Trafford next season.
