Renato Veiga’s Dry Loan set to be completed.

Juventus are set to bring in Renato Veiga on a dry loan from Chelsea to help bring depth back to the defence. This is because of the injuries suffered by Juan Cabal and Bremer which will see both out for the rest of the season.

The loan deal will not have an option to extend or buy for Juventus and he will return back to Chelsea before the beginning of the club world cup. The loan fee will cost Juventus 4.5 million euros because of the interest from other clubs like Dortmund and Lazio in his signing.

With the loan fee, Juventus will cover the entire of Renato Veiga’s salary over the 6-month loan spell as well which is all the spending, Juventus will do in this deal. Veiga is set to fly into Turin on Friday to complete his medical.

This means he won’t be available to take on Napoli during the weekend, or Benfica due to Juventus not being able to register him for UEFA Champions League to the start of the knockout stages. This means the first game he can play in is at home to Empoli.

This deal is a win-win for both teams, Juventus need a defender to come in until the end of the season and Chelsea need to give Renato Veiga minutes for him to develop. This comes after he signed for Chelsea this season from Basel.

I do believe that Juventus have overpaid to bring Veiga on loan with the loan fee and covering the entirety of his wages. Especially considering the fact that don’t have a buy on option confirmed. But reports suggest the clubs will potentially discuss a permeant deal at the end of the loan spell.
