Bayer Leverkusen have reportedly placed a valuation of €8 to €15 million on Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka, as Juventus express interest in bringing the experienced player to Turin this summer.
Xhaka’s future at the BayArena remains uncertain. Despite declaring he is currently content at Leverkusen, the 32-year-old has voiced concerns about the team’s trajectory.
“The players who are leaving or have left are a huge loss,” said the former Arsenal star, hinting that Leverkusen’s hopes of challenging Bayern Munich for the Bundesliga title have taken a serious blow.
Previously linked with a move to AC Milan, Xhaka now seems unlikely to join the Rossoneri, who have opted to sign Real Madrid veteran Luka Modrić instead.
This development has opened the door for Juventus, who are on the lookout for a new midfield option.
The Bianconeri’s primary targets remain Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali and Inter Milan’s Davide Frattesi.
However, negotiations for those players appear complicated and costly, prompting Juve to explore alternative options.
Xhaka fits that mold experienced, versatile, and potentially available for a manageable fee.
Leverkusen are hesitant to part ways with the midfielder, but sources suggest they won’t block a move if Xhaka expresses a desire to leave. Turkish giants Galatasaray and Besiktas are also reportedly monitoring the situation closely.
With the transfer window heating up, Juventus could soon make a formal move to match Leverkusen’s asking price.
