Juventus are preparing to open formal transfer talks with Brazilian side Flamengo during the FIFA Club World Cup, with the Italian club’s general manager Damien Comolli pushing for a €20 million deal to sign right-back Wesley.
Comolli will meet Flamengo representatives in Philadelphia this week, where both clubs are participating in the ongoing Club World Cup.
The 20-year-old Wesley has been on Juventus’ shortlist for several months. The Serie A giants view him as an ideal fit for head coach Igor Tudor’s 3-4-2-1 system.
With Tudor recently confirmed to stay in charge for the 2025/26 season, Juventus are keen to bring in a dynamic wing-back, and Wesley’s profile matches their requirements.
Wesley, who has made two appearances for the Brazilian national team, is seen as a valuable but affordable signing, with Flamengo reportedly setting a price tag of €20 million (approximately £17 million or $23 million).
Flamengo and Juventus are both competing in the 2025 Club World Cup in the United States. Flamengo won their opening match against Esperance de Tunis and will face Chelsea on June 20.
Juventus, meanwhile, are set to play Al Ain on June 19 and Wydad Casablanca on June 22, both at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
Comolli is expected to use this opportunity to directly negotiate with Flamengo officials and potentially finalize terms for the full-back.
Should talks go smoothly, Juventus could move quickly to secure Wesley’s signature before the start of the 2025/26 Serie A campaign.
The move would be part of a wider recruitment strategy aimed at refreshing the squad with young, high-potential talent.
Stay tuned as Juventus look to make a decisive move on the Club World Cup stage — both on the pitch and in the transfer market.
