Zlatan Ibrahimović has opened up about his first experience in Italy when he joined Juventus from Ajax in 2004, marking the beginning of his legendary career in Serie A.

At the time, Ibrahimović was one of Europe’s most exciting young forwards, attracting interest from several top clubs.

Juventus managed to secure his signature, bringing him to what was then considered the most competitive league in the world.

During his two seasons in Turin, Ibrahimović quickly became a key figure under Fabio Capello. His skill, creativity, and confidence made him a fan favourite.

However, his time with Juventus ended abruptly after the Calciopoli scandal, leading to his move to Inter Milan and later AC Milan, where he continued to shine.

Ibrahimović looked back on his early days in Italy with both humour and humility.

“Italy is my second home. When I arrived, Serie A was the best league in the world. I was young and didn’t have much respect for others  I wanted to make my mark. At Juventus, it was fantastic.

I came from Ajax and suddenly saw players like Buffon and Cannavaro. A week before, I was playing PlayStation with them, and then I found them in the dressing room. I wasn’t nervous; I just wanted to prove why they had chosen me.”

His words show the mindset that defined his career  fearless, ambitious, and determined to succeed no matter the stage.
