Top midfielder says yes to Juventus transfer talks now underway
Juventus have received the green light from Danish midfielder Morten Hjulmand, who is ready to join the club but a deal still depends on negotiations with Sporting Lisbon.
The Bianconeri are currently in Herzogenaurach, Germany, training at the Adidas headquarters for the second phase of pre-season under coach Igor Tudor.
However, the club is still looking to strengthen the squad, especially in midfield.
Hjulmand, currently playing for Sporting Lisbon, has reportedly agreed to the transfer. He’s attracted by a higher salary, the chance to play in Serie A again (after a previous spell with Lecce), and a proposed contract running until 2030. From the player’s side, everything is set.

The problem lies with Sporting. After recently selling Viktor Gyökeres to Arsenal, the Portuguese club is reluctant to let another key player go.
They’re pointing to Hjulmand’s €60 million release clause, a figure too high for Juventus and most other clubs.
However, the player’s camp hopes to lower the price. Juventus are aiming to strike a deal closer to €40 million, potentially including performance-based bonuses.
Juventus reportedly offered Arthur or Douglas Luiz as part of a swap to reduce the fee, but Sporting showed no interest. That option is now off the table.
Juventus will need to come up with a better offer possibly closer to Sporting’s demands if they want to bring the 26-year-old midfielder to Turin.
Negotiations are ongoing.
