Juventus’ preparations for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup have gotten off to an unexpected start, as their first training session on U.S. soil was canceled due to travel-related delays.

The Italian giants, currently based in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, had initially planned a light recovery session upon arrival in the United States.

The session was intended to help players recover from the long transatlantic flight after a brief stopover in Washington, D.C. However, logistical complications led to a rescheduling of the workout.

The team will instead begin full training this morning local time corresponding to afternoon in Italy. The first session is expected to be relatively light, focusing on recovery rather than tactical drills.

Despite the minor hiccup, the Bianconeri remain fully focused as they prepare to launch their campaign in the newly expanded Club World Cup. The squad is expected to resume full training without further issues as they acclimate to their new environment.

Juventus will kick off their tournament on June 19 against Al Ain, a competitive side from the United Arab Emirates. While Al Ain will be motivated to challenge one of Europe’s most storied clubs, Juventus enter the match as firm favorites and are confident in securing a strong start.

The match offers both teams an opportunity to make a statement on the global stage. For Juventus, it’s a chance to showcase their strength and depth, while also adapting quickly to tournament conditions despite initial disruptions.

The cancellation of the first training session is not expected to impact the team’s readiness. With several days remaining before the opening match, head coach Igor Tudor and his staff have ample time to make up for the lost session and bring the squad up to peak condition.

As one of two Serie A clubs participating in the competition, Juventus are determined to represent Italian football with pride and pursue international glory in the United States.
