Juventus returned to winning ways in dominant fashion, securing a 2-0 victory over AC Milan on Saturday to end a nearly month-long winless streak.
Juventus took control early in the second half after an electric first half filled with chances for both sides. Samuel Mbangula broke the deadlock in the 49th minute with a curling first-touch shot that deflected off Milan’s Emerson Royal and into the net, courtesy of a precise pass from Nico Gonzalez.
The Bianconeri doubled their lead just five minutes later on a blistering counterattack. Khephren Thuram sparked the move by finding Timothy Weah in open space, and the American winger flustered Fikayo Tomori before slotting a weak-footed strike past Mike Maignan into the right side of the goal.
From there, Juventus managed the game expertly, offsetting Milan’s attack and securing their first Serie A clean sheet since a 0-0 draw over Milan on Nov. 23. The victory keeps Thiago Motta’s side undefeated in league play while marking their first win since Dec. 22.
The Old Lady will look to build on this momentum as they return to the Champions League on Tuesday Jan. 21 at Club Brugge.
