A major player exchange could be on the horizon in Serie A, as AC Milan and Juventus are reportedly exploring a potential swap deal involving left-back Theo Hernandez and striker Dusan Vlahovic, with both players valued at around €30 million.

According to SportMediaset, initial talks have begun between the two Italian giants, although formal negotiations have not yet been established.

The idea is gaining traction due to the circumstances surrounding both players: their contracts expire in 2026, neither seems to be in the current plans of their respective coaches, and both are admired by the opposing managers.

Massimiliano Allegri is said to be keen on Vlahovic’s continuity, but there’s growing interest in reshaping the squad.

Milan, on the other hand, are believed to admire the Serbian striker’s qualities and see him as a possible long-term attacking option.

The proposed deal would not involve cash exchanges, which makes it financially attractive to both clubs.

With each player valued similarly, the swap could help balance the books, avoiding losses or depreciation risks should either depart for free next year.

While the concept of the deal is seen as beneficial for both sides, salary differences pose a challenge. Vlahovic currently earns around €12 million net per season, a figure that is far beyond Milan’s wage structure.

Theo Hernandez, meanwhile, has been demanding €6 million per year in talks to renew with the Rossoneri closer to the upper limit Milan are willing to offer.

This disparity makes the swap complex. Milan would likely only proceed if Vlahovic accepts a reduced salary over a longer-term contract.

At this stage, talks remain preliminary and exploratory. Both clubs are open to discussions, and the willingness to communicate is viewed as a promising first step.

Whether this potential blockbuster deal materializes will depend on how all the moving parts contracts, salaries, and sporting plans fall into place.

What’s clear, however, is that such a deal could offer a fresh start for two high-profile players and potentially benefit both clubs in their efforts to restructure ahead of the 2025/26 season.
