Juventus star close to joining Nottingham Forest in €22M deal

United States men’s national team winger Tim Weah could be on the move again, with Nottingham Forest reportedly closing in on a double deal involving the Juventus forward and teammate Samuel Mbangula.
According to ESPN, Forest has agreed on a €22 million package with Juventus for both players. Personal terms have yet to be finalized, but Football Italia reports that both Weah and Mbangula are open to the transfer.
Forest, who surprised many by finishing seventh in the Premier League last season, are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of their debut in the UEFA Conference League.
Weah, 25, had a breakout campaign in 2024–25, scoring a career-high six goals and providing five assists. After a debut season at Juventus spent largely playing out of position as a wingback, Weah thrived in a more natural winger role this year. However, he still found it difficult to lock down a starting spot, starting just 24 of his 43 appearances.
The American international is currently with Juventus at the FIFA Club World Cup in the U.S., where he played 45 minutes in a 5-0 win over Al Ain and was an unused sub in a 4-1 victory over Wydad AC. Juventus will finish their group stage against Manchester City on Thursday in Orlando.
This transfer could mark another step in Weah’s evolving career, giving him a fresh opportunity in the Premier League and more consistent playing time ahead of key international fixtures with the USMNT
