Morata to Barcelona? ‘I could see it happening’
Juventus striker Alvaro Morata is an option to strengthen Barcelona’s attack this winter, transferexpert Gerard Romero reported. The Atletico Madrid loanee could be a piece of the puzzle Xavi’s trying to build, according to journalist Omar Hawwash.
Barcelona’s intentions are serious. The club have had contacts with Morata’s entourage to discuss a potential move to Camp Nou. The fact that Morata’s already on loan at Juventus from Atletico Madrid makes the deal more difficult. Morata hasn’t been Juve’s best player in the first half of the season, but did score 7 goals and gave 3 assists.
Piece of the puzzle
“I could see it happening personally, but obviously given his past with Real Madrid that complicates things on top of the Atlético- Juve arrangement”, says Omar Hawwash of Barcelona news outlet Blaugranagram.
“I’ll say that given his switch from Real to Atléti I don’t see Barça being left out of field for him. Given the recent acquisition of Ferran (Torres) and the fact that Barça now houses a few Spanish National Team starters, I could see Morata being a piece of the puzzle Xavi’s trying to build. He’s got experience and knows La Liga well, I could see it happening.”

Gerard Romero has been ‘pretty reliable lately’, Hawwash states. “I wouldn’t be surprised in that regard either if this turned out to be true.”
If Morata leaves Turin in January, it would make sense for Juve to push for Sassuolo’s Gianluca Scamacca.
